If your childhood was punctuated by constant repetitions of the line, “Who wants to go down the creepy tunnel inside the tomb first?” prepare to be excited. 2004’s National Treasure is, in fact, a national treasure, and if you enjoyed the incredible heist movie about Ben Gates’ (Nicholas Cage) attempt to steal the Declaration of Independence, then you’re in luck.
The National Treasure franchise is getting a rehaul in the form of a brand new TV series that will utilize the format of the original National Treasure to explore a new adventure story, and you can catch the action (and banter) on Disney+.
How to stream the new National Treasure series
You can stream the National Treasure series when it is released, as well as the original National Treasure and National Treasure: Book of Secrets, on Disney+. The streaming service is available via an internet connection if you live in Australia, Austria, Canada, the Channel Islands, France, Germany, India, Ireland, the Isle of Man, Italy, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom. Disney’s direct-to-consumer streaming platform can be accessed from desktop browsers, mobile devices, game consoles, and more.
Disney+ is home to Walt Disney Studios films, Marvel films and series, Disney Channel original series, Pixar films and shorts, Star Wars films and series, and National Geographic titles. The platform is constantly releasing new content, such as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Raya and the Last Dragon, upcoming series like Obi-Wan Kenobi, and more.

What will the National Treasure TV series be about?
The original two films in the National Treasure franchise follow Nicholas Cage’s character Ben Gates as he attempts to keep important American treasures and information (such as the Declaration of Independence) out of the hands of opportunists and thieves (by stealing them himself, naturally). Written by Cormac and Marianne Wibberley and produced by the film’s original producer Jerry Bruckheimer, the National Treasure TV series will serve as a reimagining of the story of the original film, utilizing younger, brand new actors and following the story of Jess Morales, a DREAMer on the hunt for lost treasure.
If you’re a big fan of the original films, you’re also in luck. National Treasure 3 is actually still in production and will feature the original cast of National Treasure including Nicholas Cage, Diane Kruger, Justin Bartha, and more in a brand new adventure when it gets its theatrical release. You can catch up on all the National Treasure action, and view the National Treasure series when it arrives, all on Disney+.
