Lynsey Crombie, also known as the Queen of Clean on Instagram, has shared more of her cleaning tips exclusively with The cleaning expert has recently published her third book, The 15-Minute Clean: The quickest way to a sparkling home. The book aims to help people create an easy, quick and fun cleaning routine in just 15 minutes.

As well as tips and tricks, Lynsey shares her natural cleaning methods with readers.

Lynsey said when it comes to coffee machines, a simple white vinegar and water solution is the best way to clean them.

She said: “We wipe ours over all the time and then with the filter system at the back we just put white vinegar through it and water.

“Just let it drain the cistern and it cleans out any limescale and any hard water.

“Bit like when you clean your iron – it’s the same principle.”

However, Lynsey said a lot of modern coffee machines are also self-cleaning.

She added: “I think you’ll find with a lot of these modern machines, a lot of them have got self-cleaning functions as well.”

Another common cleaning hurdle in the UK is getting rid of grease marks from walls.

Using the wrong product can lead to paint being scraped off the wall as well as the stain.

Lynsey recommended three solutions for removing the stains.

She said: “I’d use a magic eraser or something for those.

“The best thing to combat grease is actually lemon juice.

“That works if you’re married to a chef or cook and they’ve got grease everywhere.

“You just squeeze a lemon onto it.

“There is another tip which does work but I’m not overly keen on using it.

“Diluted fabric conditioner is actually really good for marks on walls.”

She added: “A tiny amount diluted in water.

“It’s very soft so it doesn’t damage or take paintwork off which will happen if you go and put a strong abrasive product on.”
