Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime fans can slash up to £175 off streaming bills using clever money saving trick | The Sun
IF you're thinking about cancelling your Netflix subscription due to the new sharing ban, there might be another way that actually reduces the cost of all your streaming bills.
Opting for the cheapest available monthly tiers on Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime will cost you more than £260 for the whole year.
But with some careful planning, you could bring the entire bunch down to just over £87.
Rotate your streaming services
Monthly rolling subscriptions are key to making this money saving trick work.
The cheaper the plan you opt for, the more you'll save.
So in Netflix's case this is the £4.99 ad-supported tier.
But even if you're using the more expensive Netflix plans this strategy will still save you money.
The idea behind it is to rotate when you subscribe to each rather than subscribing to them all at once.
So you could do four months of Netflix, four months of Disney+, then four months of Amazon Prime.
Or you could alternate each month.
A bit of admin can go a long way in making the rotation idea work.
Set calendar reminders when you should cancel and when your month is up.
Some places like Netflix let you cancel anytime and tell you when the 30 days will end.
To help you work out when is best to renew, there are useful apps like JustWatch and ReelGood which tell you where your favourites appear – and can send you alerts when new episodes are available.
That way you don't have to miss out on the office chat about some new show.
Look out for offers
Some streaming providers routinely provide offers that also help keep the cost down.
For example, you can get three months access to Disney+ with your Tesco Clubcard points.
So it's a good idea to keep a look out for deals to save even more.
